Australia Day in Cabramatta

Welcome one and all. Cabramatta is a vibrant suburb located in south-west Sydney between Fairfield and Liverpool, the most multicultural community in Australia.

On behalf of the Cabramatta Lions Club, Canley Vale High School and Cabramatta High School, we enjoy working for the community around us! We serve.

Latest News

* During White Ribbon Day, Canley Vale Leo Club members fundraised more than $1,300 for Bonnie Support Services women's refuges to help women and children, who are escaping domestic and family violence.

* Recently, together with Paladdiam Fit and Holiday Inn Warwick Farm, the Lions and the Leo Clubs fundraised nearly $10,000 to help the Nepal Earthquake victims.

* At the Lions Australia district cabinet changeover 2015-16, the District Governor awarded Steven Tew, the DG's Appreciation Award ribbon, and Adrian Wong was awarded the DG's Star Award ribbon for outstanding service, in particular, for organising the Convention.

* In celebrating our 45 years of Lions Club service to Cabramatta, we organised a major fundraising charity ball with ibis Styles Lansvale Hotel. We raised more than $18,000 to fund the Liverpool Hospital research into head and neck cancer surgery.

* Our two Leo Clubs made a generous $2,000 cheque donation to the Fairfield Hospital emergency department to help them in their important work.

* More than 20 of our Cabramatta and Canley Vale students joined Leo Club members from around NSW at the Berry Sport and Recreation Camp. Our young people learnt about teamwork and leadership, as well as, they challenged themselves on the giant swing, high ropes, archery and kayaking!

* Thank you for attending our Australia Day celebrations, as we provided the free jumping castle, fairy floss and the official Fairfield City Council BBQ! More than $6,000 was raised, which was donated to Westmead Hospital and Liverpool Hospital for the purchase of three very good wheelchairs. Thank you again for buying drinks and bags of rice for our charity fundraiser during Lunar New Year!

* Cabramatta Lions Club was again invited by Fairfield City Council to host the BBQ at the famous Cabramatta Moon Festival.

* Canley Vale Leo Club successfully organised the Karaoke Singing Competition to fundraise for the Fairfield Meals on Wheels, supporting the most vulnerable people in our community, particularly our elderly residents. $2,000 was raised and donated. For the media release, please click here.
